Most days, I like to play a little love game with my children.

It goes like this:

Me: There is nothing that could happen that would make me stop loving you.

Child 1: Nothing?

Me: Nothing. You cannot think of anything that will make me stop loving you.

Child starts thinking hard, veering off decisively towards dark and creepy shit.

Child 1: What if I take your eye out?

Child 2: What if you go down in the water?

Child 1: What if you die?

Me: I would still love you.

ENTER CHILD #3 STAGE LEFT.

Child 3: What if there are no cows?

Last week, I ordered what looked to be a really nice short sleeved tee shirt. I want to stress that it was supposed to have **short sleeves**, because what arrived instead is maybe the single most astonishing and baffling article of clothing I have ever handled.

Reading, etc.

I’m about to relate to your story by telling my own unrelated story

What I would have done differently as Prince Harry’s ghostwriter. (You read it, didn’t you?! I shared in the popular opinion that the army section was looong.)

A history of Black life in Manhattan

“Until 1900, Harlem had been a virtually all-white neighborhood,” Jervis Anderson wrote in The New Yorker, in 1981. “The blacks who began settling there at that time did not see themselves as the advance guard of a larger community.”

My fave designer here in Argentina, Maria Cher, just opened two stores in Manhattan. Go, New York-ian-ite-rs!

Claire Rafson, a venture capitalist at Eniac Ventures, tweeted that she is going to be on Survivor and there was nothing that made me more excited for a period of many hours!

I ALSO would like to be on Survivor, but the kind where you get to sleep for 12 hours every night on your cooling mattress, wake up gently to three hours of alone time dedicated to medicating, drinking expensive coffee and doing morning pages, and then calmly spend the rest of the day NOT in fight or flight because someone from Denver is going to talk shit behind your back and get you kicked off an island.

Yep... why I'm always hesitant to believe any "life hacks" from people who have less than 3 kids would actually work for me

Exactly!

Startups, etc.

Real-Time Leadership: Find Your Winning Moves when the Stakes are High is out soon from my pal Carol Kauffman & Harvard Business Review press. Named one of "4 of the Most Anticipated Business Books You Need to Read in 2023" by Inc. magazine, go pre-order now!

The hardest part of leadership is mastering the inevitable high-risk, high-stakes challenges you will face. Whether you're making a split-second decision when your business is knocked sideways or you're finding the best strategy to navigate business-critical long-term circumstances, how can you be in peak form in those most crucial moments?

Leadership coaching legends David Noble and Carol Kauffman show you how with their innovative new framework—MOVE—which equips you with the tactics you need to slow down high-stakes situations before they speed you up. You'll learn to master the moment, generate response options, and quickly evaluate those options before acting. As you get better and better at using the framework, you'll find you can recognize these moments as they arrive, like a great athlete who can read the field as a play unfolds or a great conductor who anticipates what's needed to deliver a great performance.

How one founder is taking on his experience with long covid with a new startup

La Neta del VC is here to answer all your venture capital questions - in Spanish! Go Natalia Gonzalez Vela! Tons of great content. Run, don’t walk.

I'm *hugely* honored to announce I've been named to the 2023 Thinkers50 Radar List, recognizing emerging leaders in business thinking. As a venture capitalist with many books to my name and a current passion for improving the future of venture, I sometimes feel neither here nor there for life in both worlds. "So are you an investor...or an author?" BOTHHHHH. Full post here & thanks Thinkers50!

Smiles, etc.

I am that friend who sends my entire message in one text. Most of my other friends: multiple texts in rapid succession to convey the same amount of info.
