on finding the wherewithal to just sit there...
Hello!
It’s 85 degrees at 9 am and twin #1 is standing in the shallow end of the pool in his life jacket saying, “The pool smells bad.”
How’s your morning?!
My husband and kids have recovered from Covid, the fumigator came twice this week because I found a tarantula on twin #2’s “day blanket” (see 85 degrees), and I’m on my fourth fake Agatha Christie book. (AKA, an Agatha Christie book NOT written by Agatha Christie, but that is a pretty good take on it if I say so myself. Here’s how the author approached these retellings.)
There’s a vaccine coming, but it’s not all good news YET.

It’s time to dig deep within yourself to find the wherewithal to… just sit there. Cue this German call to arms TV commercial that has gone viral.
Some things:
I switched back to Superhuman for email, and I’m thrilled. (It’s $30 a month, so don’t complain to me if that makes you crazy sauce, but do send me an email if you want a referral! I love it and think it saves me many hours a week.)
My friend Amanda launched House of Wise, a great name for anything if I’ve ever heard one. The deets: It’s a luxury CBD brand for women. I bought my first CBD product last month, and I’m sad it took me so long to understand that CBD wasn’t some insane psychedelic drug that would send me to Pluto in a eggplant-shaped box. Been curious about CBD but too nervous to try? This line was created by a single mom of 3 kids! House of Wise is made for women by women to help everyone better manage stress and sleep. Check out the great products here. (And yes, a wise woman does take control.)
My friend Emily P Freeman has a new audio devotional for Christmas! If there was ever a year when we needed some extra support, clarity, and compassion, this would be, uh, it? That's why she created The Quiet Collection for Christmas. It's an audio devotional series that gives space for thoughtful reflection this holiday season. Each audio offering is between 5 - 8 minutes long and she'll deliver it to your inbox each day for 10 days (including complete transcripts!) Have Day 1 delivered now.
Did your love your socially distanced Thanksgiving on Zoom, or just LOVE it? Why we judge people based on their relatives. Yikes. See: “The same intuitions that create trust can also sow distrust.” True!
Are you a female founder with a new startup? Here’s the bad news you don’t want to know: The Underside of Silicon Valley’s Co-founder Mantra. Always cheering Tracy on;)
Stunning vintage photos captures inside the Cincinnati Library. (My parents are from Cinti.) Beauties, all.
I finished The Crown and now want to read all the things about Diana. Send them.
Think you can’t?
Actually…
(That was in reference to you being human, and to you sending me Diana links.)
Bye now,
Claire
