So yeah, super crappy month in Argentina, with Covid never worse, us alll back in strict lockdown 15+ months later, no vaccines on horizon, and a hospitalized young family member (now home). To understand the mess, read this about why Covid has become primarily a “Global South Pandemic” in India, Brazil, Argentina, and beyond.
But the birds. Oh the birds.
As it turns to winter in Argentina the Great Egrets on the little lake next to my backyard office have never been more beautiful.

I read A Book of Common Prayer, by Joan Didion this week in one sitting. One of the best reads in a long, long while.
It’s been 3,000 years but 7 baby Tasmanian devils have given new hope for the species. Swoon.
