This is an interesting list! Love how it's a mix of genres. Looking forward to reading lots of these ones. Recently started listening to Yellowface and it's crazy! Also, Wilfred Owen is one of my favourite poets! Anthem for Doomed Youth...sigh šŸ’”

le sigh, indeed.

yellowface is NUTS. loved, though.

shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbye.

-----

What passing-bells for these who die as cattle?

ā€” Only the monstrous anger of the guns.

Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle

Can patter out their hasty orisons.

No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells;

Nor any voice of mourning save the choirs,ā€”

The shrill, demented choirs of wailing shells;

And bugles calling for them from sad shires.

What candles may be held to speed them all?

Not in the hands of boys, but in their eyes

Shall shine the holy glimmers of goodbyes.

The pallor of girls' brows shall be their pall;

Their flowers the tenderness of patient minds,

And each slow dusk a drawing-down of blinds.

Love this list! Downloaded many Kindle samples to check some of them out. I could not get into Trust. What am I missing? Yellowface was my favorite book in last year. Now you have to read Weyward!!
